OPEN APPEAL
TRUTH For Madeleine would like to appeal to the perpetrator(s) of this terrible crime to give themselves up and if Madeleine is still alive please do the right thing and leave her in a safe place before contacting law enforcement agencies. Please don’t let this situation continue. If the parents and/or the Tapas 7 members are involved, speak up and get this off your conscience. Please respect the wider family of this poor little girl and let the police close the case once and for all.
WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT MADELEINE?
Surprisingly, we know very little about Madeleine Beth McCann. We probably think we know a lot more about this little girl because of the many photographs and articles written about her, but when we get down to facts, we know hardly anything. Even the official website www.findmadeleine.com has scant details about their little girl who has allegedly been missing since May 3, 2007.
Here’s what they initially said about their daughter on the “About Madeleine” page on the official website in 2007:
Madeleine McCann was born 4 years ago. She has one brother Sean and a sister Amelie. She lives with her family in Rothley, Leicestershire.
Her father comes from Glasgow and has 3 sisters, Patricia, Jacqueline and Phil, and a brother John. Madeleine’s Grandmother, Eileen lives in Glasgow. Her other grandparents, Sue and Brian live in Liverpool.
Both sides of the family are very close and all are working in different ways to try and help in the search for Madeleine.
Phil, who resides in Ullapool and is a teacher, has asked that the heartfelt thanks of the whole family be passed to everyone who has helped in the search so far. She said “There have been so many messages of support and prayers from people all over the world. We (the family) are overwhelmed with your assistance. The media people have been wonderful and so helpful in making everyone aware of our plight. Madeleine’s family are so grateful to you all. Please keep Madeleine in your thoughts and prayers. We pray that she will be returned to us safe and well.”
7 WORDS
Surprisingly, there are 181 words supposedly telling us about Madeleine. The fact is that the only real and useful information about Madeleine is in the first sentence: Madeleine McCann was born 4 years ago. The rest of the information refers to her family relationships and these details are of no use whatsoever in identifying or searching for Madeleine Beth McCann. Could you describe your own child better than this?
The official website was updated on February 1,2008. They improved upon the description of their daughter with a paltry 228 words: Probably the amount of criticism levelled at the McCanns was responsible for them writing an improved description. Who knows? One thing is certain – they write about Madeleine as if she is still very much alive:
Madeleine was born in May 2003 – a long-awaited and very much longed for little girl. She lives in the village of Rothley in Leicester, with her mummy and daddy and little brother and sister, Sean and Amelie.
Madeleine is a very happy little girl with an outgoing personality. She has always been a very popular little person, appealing to both children and adults alike with her funny and engaging chatter. She has many friends who obviously miss her dearly. Despite her young age, it often felt like Madeleine had been on this earth before!
Like most girls her age, she likes dolls and dresses (and anything pink and sparkly) but with a definite taste for action-adventure too! She has an incredible amount of energy and even as a little baby, didn’t seem to need much rest. She enjoys running and swimming and is an Everton fan like her mum and granddad.
Madeleine has always been a wonderfully loving and caring big sister to Sean and Amelie. It was certainly not the quietest house on the planet with lots of giggling, singing and the inevitable odd bit of mischief! For Sean and Amelie, there is without doubt, a very important person missing in their life.
Madeleine is a warm, life-enriching little person and will never fail we’re sure, to bring joy into the life of anyone she may encounter.
The image here is the one used on the missing person page on the PJ website in Portugal. Dozens of photos of Madeleine have been released but rather bizarrely, only five have been published from the McCanns’ week in Praia da Luz. There may be a simple reason for this but the family have never offered any explanation why.
Common sense would say that contemporary photographs are a better aid to identification. If, as the family said, Madeleine fell and cut her leg while boarding the plane, wouldn’t you think that she had a sizable scar from such a cut? Surely a cut like that would be a unique feature to help with identification?
OTHER SOURCES OF INFORMATION
The PJ Missing Persons page has on their website some helpful information about Madeleine. TRUTH For Madeleine urges people to take a look at the page if only to look at all the missing people there and hope that someone will help find a missing person. Curiously, the PJ give details of Madeleine’s passport. They give details of the passport number and the issue/expiry dates. Some press reports said that nothing else had been taken from apartment 5A on the night Madeleine disappeared. If so, why are the PJ publishing details of Madeleine’s passport?
The Madeleine Foundation – MADELEINE’S LAW
TRUTH For Madeleine is supporting UK solicitor Tony Bennett in the process of initiating what we hope will become “Madeleine’s Law”. The aim of this law and campaign is simple: Child neglect by way of abandonment is totally unacceptable. Whether the abandonment is temporary in nature or long term, the harm done to children and particularly young children is psychologically damaging. This kind of neglect should not be tolerated.
There are 2 slogans for the campaign:
MADELEINE’S LAW
Never Leave Young Children Alone.
MADELEINE’S LAW
Never Leave Young Children On Their Own.
